Film Score Composer, Daniel Velasco (b. 1978) grew up in Colombia and from a very early age showed great artistic talent especially as a musician.
He has an important background in Jazz, having studied with the best teachers in that area. He has always created music with identity and grace, and obtained great acclaim from professors and friends in the music scene. At the university, he also studied classical music composition with a demanding exercise of analysis.
He has also studied composition and production of popular music and the fundaments of computer based music, which helps him work successfully in the composition of original music for many documentaries produced by channels such as History Channel, City TV and Caracol Televisión in Colombia.
In 2006 Daniel went to Germany to study film music at the prestigious Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen “Konrad Wolf” at Potsdam-Babelsberg. During this experience, he fused all this knowledge and his abilities with an important emphasis in the techniques of visual communication. This has catapulted his ability to compose in different styles and has given him an intensive and deep knowledge of the writing for the orchestra. He has recorded tens of times with the German Film Orchestra.
All this background has made of him a young promise in the film making circuit, being a composer with an original, rich and interesting sound.
